HOLY CRAP I’M OLD BIRTHDAY GIVEAWAY!

by MARIA on July 15, 2009

It’s here. On July 22nd of this year, I will officially surpass my scary age – the age I always considered being REALLY OLD back in the day when I was just a pup. So, in honour of this rather-depressing-but-I’ll-fake-being-happy-about-it day, I’ve decided to do a giveaway with some pretty great prizes! Here’s part one of the giveaway:

PART ONE: PUNKY JANE GIFT CERTIFICATE (OPEN TO CDN. & U.S. RESIDENTS)

PJ

After purchasing a necklace from @PunkyJane and loving it, I spoke with Sandy of Punky Jane, and she generously donated a $30 Gift Certificate in honour of my birthday giveaway. Here’s how to enter!!

For your contest entry, please check out my blog and tell me which 1 of the 5o little tidbits I’ve written about myself so far you can relate to the most. You can see post #1 here and post #2 here.

BONUS ENTRY: Check out @PunkyJane’s ETSY SHOP and tell me towards which item you would use the gift certificate!

That’s it!!

Open to U.S. and Canadian residents only.

This giveaway will run from July 15th – July 21st, 2009. I will pick a winner, using Random.org, on the day of my rather thrilling birth, July 22nd, 2009. Good Luck!

I can so relate to your love of books… I am the same way! I have to stockpile them too!! I don’t do that with anything other than books. I feel lost sometimes if I am not reading a book. Oh, and I can relate to the swearing like a sailor. Though, my son is only 21 months so I still have some time before he reprimands me… but I do get reprimanded by others! :)

PS I saw the necklace you purchased and LOVE it!

You are so not old silly girl. I thought it was really interesting to see how many things we had in common but #1 – being married in 2000 made me laugh out loud because I was married in June 2000 and say the exact same thing. As a matter of fact, my husband and I both have our birthdays in June also, so I always tell him that he has no excuse to forget our anniversary. Happy birthday!

While it is a difficult decision b/c I love everything at this site, I would get the cup of wishes necklace with pearl!!

I’m totally with you on the being blind without contacts. My husband thinks it is “funny” to hide my glasses right after I’ve taken out my contacts and make me find them. Yeah, that’s just freakin’ hilarious. Perhaps we should both get Lasik?

Well, the books obviously. People ask me how I have to read as much as I do. I invite them to my home to see what gets sacrificed for the sake of reading.

I would buy the Hope necklace, and maybe see about adding on a personal touch. Thanks for sharing the love.

If I were the lucky winner, I think I would put the gift certificate toward the LOVE CIRCLE necklace. Too, too cute!

Oh, and Happy Birthday!

I can’t really pick one that I relate to the most… so here are a couple… I loathe bugs too. I used to swear so much! and I HATE supper with a passion. I hate beyonce and mariah equally. I adore books… there was more but I’ll stop there :D

I think I’d use the $30 towards this:

There are quite a few similarities…

I love, love, love magazines, too! I, too, love movies based on Jane Austin books and from that period. I love books and also think in-laws should live far, far away. And I also prefer polka dots to stripes.

From Punky Jane’s – I would get the sweet stack of personalized discs (I know. I’m such a copycat!) and put in words of inspiration/encouragement. Not sure what those are yet, but I’m sure I will come up with something great.

I can relate to SO MANY things, Maria – except I love peanut butter, etc.

Okay, the one thing is: I LOVE BOOKS SO MUCH, too! We are two peas in a pod. Totally helps that we’re both Greek, too. :)

If I win, I want the necklace that you have… I will put both my son’s names on it, and on the littlest disc, maybe a heart and ‘my boys’. OH…. I so want to win!

“I like everything to be exactly where its supposed to be. Is that too much to ask?”

No, it’s not too much to ask. I have a breakdown about once a month about my husband’s clutter. Then he puts it all away, I calm down, and we start over again. WHY do opposites attract?

And given the choice, I would probably order this from PunkyJane (already with the correct initial!) because CUTE!

I am a dots (and circles) girl too!!!!! The people who lived here before us had 4 rooms WALLPAPERED in stripes. *hate* I would probably hate dots and circles all over the house if I didn’t live with mostly boys.

Ooh great giveaway!

I loved the story about the ex-boyf who took baths with his entire family, that one made me laugh out loud.

And from the Pinky Jane site I’d pick the Hand-shaped Bean Charm. Lovely stuff.

I would probably get the Sweet Stack too.

Part 2 #1 is totally me (peirced ears, but never wear earings).

Part 2 #2 made me gag!!!! (bath water, ugh I just gagged typing it).

Part 2 #21: wedding ring. When preggy with my 1st son I gained so much weight, I couldn’t wear my ring. After he was born I just couldn’t lose the weight and I gave up on the ring. 2 years later I called the jeweler to see about having it re-sized to fit my fat finger. He agreed, but after I hung up the phone I cried and cried my eyes out. And that is when I decided I couldn’t live like that anymore. I know you know what I mean, although I don’t know if that is the relationship you have with your ring. Hugs

#2 on your first post is the one that made me yell out, “YES.” I HATE hate hate bugs of all sorts. I’m ashamed to say that I’ve quite passed on my phobia to my kids — now my youngest, who just turned two, runs inside shrieking if she sees a ladybug. Eeep.

I also totally envy your cookbook display (from your second post). Is it at eye level, or down low? Me want one.

Contest Entry – I relate most to If you fart in front of me, and you’re not five, you will get your ass kicked. My brother used to fart in pillows and smother me with them and ever since then – GRRRR! PS you’re not old – I am!

I can relate to several to several of your “tidbits”, like wearing contacts, wanting to go back to school (law school in my case), being a shopoholic, being a non-swimmer, etc.
But the one I can most relate to is:
Post 1, #19. My favorite thing to do with my kids is to listen to them talk about their topic of the moment. Coming in a close second, dancing around the kitchen with them, to Kelly Clarkson or Katy Perry.

My life totally revolves arounbd my daughter.

P.S. LOVE your blog!

I relate the most to the LOVE of magazines! OH and I hate bras too. And p.s. I need to borrow your sewing machine for a little project. You’re not using it anyway, right? ; )

I like the hand stamped circle necklace that could have all of our names on it. I also like the Go Green four leaves necklace. So many pretties!

Great way to celebrate your birthday! : )

The thing I can relate to most is your hatred of bugs. I LOVE summer but cannot stand bugs! The swatting, the biting, the buzzing, the itching, HATE IT.

And for the item I’d get? That would be the ITTY BITTY PEACE sign handstamped sterling silver necklace. It’s so cute and I’ll all about peace signs this summer :)

I can relate to a few but the one that is haunting me right now is “14. I wish I was a runner.”. I have 15lbs of baby-baby (15 months apart) weight to lose and I HATE RUNNING. I think its all the sweating that I am afraid of or the not being able to breath 3 minutes in. Either way I just can’t do it!

I’d use the g.c for the “MY HEART hand stamped fine silver heart necklace”
