My 5 year old son has become very interested in my blog lately, and loves to see himself on it as much as possible. So in that spirit, I promised him that I would interview him for the blog. Here it is:
What’s your name?
Nicholas
How old are you?
Five
Do you have any brothers or sisters?
I have a sister.
What grade are you in?
Grade One. Going in to grade one. Its my first time going into grade one. Today. One Day.
Are you happy that school starts soon?
Yup. Because, um, I’m going to have new friends and play at grade one. But instead, I’m going to have to do work and stuff.
What is your favorite food?
That’s a good question. Pasta with yiayia’s sauce
What do you think mommy’s job is?
She um, taking care of us, making us happy and stuff.
Why is the sky blue?
Because well, because its morning. Well then it goes and turns into different colours, ’cause then its like a sunset.
Who is the tooth fairy?
Tooth fairy takes your toofs and stuff. TEEF.
What’s your favorite holiday?
Halloween. Because you get candy.
What’s your favorite Star Wars character?
A Battle Droid.
Do you think you’re funny?
Yes. Because Nasia laughs when I do stuff. When she cries, I make her laugh.
What’s your favorite thing to do?
Play my video games – that’s my favorite thing to do. And I watched the real Star Wars movie, thats my favorite thing to do too.
When you flush the toilet, where does your poop go?
It goes all the way in the pipes, and then, it goes bye-bye forever.
Why do kids have to eat their vegetables?
So they can grow and be healthy.
Do you think you look like your Mommy or your Daddy?
Daddy. Because he’s a boy like me. And because he plays video games and I play video games.
What’s your favorite thing about yourself?
Um. At the restaurant, I ate something that Nasia is not allowed to eat. Because I’m a big kid.
If you could plan an entire day of stuff to do what would you pick?
I would like to play a board game and watch our favorite shows and we could play with each other, like play pretend soccer, draw our favorite pictures, and do our chores and clean up after ourselves.
What do you think happened to the dinosaurs?
They died because they can’t be alive forever when people come alive. It was a long long time ago when they were alive and we weren’t.
How do airplanes fly?
They have buttons and if you push the button they can fly like that.
What happens to your food when you swallow it?
It goes in your tummy and it turns into poop and pee and it comes out your weewee and bumbum.
Do you have anything else you want to say?
No.
So the interview is over?
YUP.

Adorable! I love how the little mind works! You have trained him well… “do our chores and clean up after ourselves” all planned in to his day.
What a cutie!
Oh my holy sweetness, Maria! Seriously, your children are too sweet. And really:
“… and do our chores and clean up after ourselves.”
HOW DID YOU DO IT???????????? WHAT IS YOUR SECRET????
What a cool little dude. I love him. Can I ship you mine for training plaese?
P.S. I can spell, I promise!
Too cute!!
Oh, sweetness overload!! To see the world through the eyes of a 5 year old would be a beautiful thing.
So cute! I love that you included the “um”s! And the kid has a pretty good understanding of his digestive system – already! HA! HA!
That is so darn funny. I almost shudder to think some of the stuff my mini would say.
Tell him I want to touch the lego now!
Love stuff with kiddies! I did an interview with my 3yrold it was pretty funny too. The things kids say!
He’s just, as Leah puts it, “too stinking cute”! He also sounds like one smart little man and a terrific big brother. Too cute!
Yes, he is too stinking cute! And now little Bookie is talking about him.
Maria if u can figure out how to make children WANT to do their chores as part of fun time you will make a million bucks. If you can teach mine I’ll give you another million.
Love that his special day included doing chores. Save this list. Show it to him at age 15.
Pasta with Yiayia sauce… YUMMMMOOO.. hes too cute
Ok that is the best thing I’ve read all day (and I follow a lot of blogs)
Hahaha! The tooth fairy response kills me.
I applaud you that he still says “weewee” and “bumbum.” My boy is starting to say “butt” instead of “bumbum” and I drives me crazy!!!!
This will be so cute to look back on when he’s older! Excellent questions, by the way.
I could read children interviews all day, they are so honest!
