I have no idea how this happened exactly but I have officially been married 9 YEARS.
NINE YEARS?
Seriously?
Honestly though, its been absolute, pure BLISS.
(OK, that’s a lie – BLISS is a huge overstatement, and is simply a testament to my sarcasm).
How about this: Its been pure HELL.
(OK, that’s not nice – true, but not nice).
How about: It has been nine years of rollercoaster-induced nausea/joy.
YES! PERFECTION!
Now that that’s out of the way, would you like to know the secret of how to stay married for 9 LONG years? Its simple. When the husband promises you a HUGE rock on your 10th Anniversary, you stick around! That’s my carrot people, and I’m not giving up until I get it.
Year 10 plus one day? Who knows who I’ll be dating at that point. Perhaps, the delicious Jeffrey Dean Morgan will clear his schedule for me that day? (Warning: Being married for 9 years may bring on hallucinations, delusions and crying fits of pure rage – large doses of strong coffee & HBO recommended!)
Happy Anniversary to me & the dude I live with (aka the husband). I wish us at least 366 more days of UTTER joy.

Congratulations on your anniversary. We are approaching 14 and together for 19 and that is longer than I lived in my parent’s house and that floors me. It gets better, even after the carrot has been eaten. Or should I say carat?

Ohhh…you are one of the lucky ones who got married in 2000!!! So it is always so easy to remember how many years you’ve been married….LUCKY! My sister-in-law is also a member of that 2000 club. You girls are smart.

I heard a quote from a couple who’d been married for like 75 years or something insane like that – when asked if during the course of their marriage the wife had ever considered divorce, she responded “Divorce, NO! Murder, FREQUENTLY!” I seriously live by this quote.
