FUNK

by MARIA on March 16, 2011

Yes, I meant to say FUNK.

You are a dirty person for thinking otherwise. (Please note: I likes you anyway)

I am in the nastiest funk right now.

Can’t shake it no matter how hard I try.

The smallest thing aggravates the crap out of me – the Tivo being disconnected, messy floors, the mailman being late. Seriously, nothing and no one is safe from my bitchy wrath.

I need a funk specialist asap. I wonder if Oprah has one of those – she has everything else, so she probably has several.

I bet she has a shitload of cardigans too.

Damn you Oprah!

I’m with you in this funk. I’m hoping as this awful winter draws to a close and it starts to get warmer, I will snap out of it. Until then FUNK it!

I get into funks all the time! Go do your hair. That sometimes helps! ;) Or, just wait and it will pass… especially now that the snow is beginning to melt… I’ve had SAD all freaking winter! Blah! Cannot wait for warmer days…

You are the funkiest Mama! (I mean that in the nicest way!) Aw. I think it’s okay to have some funk time, it’s just hard when it starts to affect the people around us.
I agree with Toni, you need a break. Change it up sister!

I am in kind of a funk too! Not much motivation to do anything….I think it is because I am waiting, impatiently, for the weather to get nicer! I am hoping that will cheer me up!

You are in the coolest looking funk I’ve ever seen. Maybe it’s a little bit creepy too…

I agree that you need a break. I would suggest that kid-free night and some drinks are in order! Sounds good to me, anyway.

Good luck de-funking yourself! (Okay, that just kinda sounds wrong…)

De-funking — really easy to say that word wrong. Nevertheless, you are so right — need a night out!

I am in a funk, too. I have about 20 drafts and VLOGS rolling in my folders and nothing inside to finish them. What is up with that?? I hate it.

And my kids run away when they see me start to steam. I am officially Scary Mommy. Jill better watch out b/c I am after her title. ;)

I think all the bad news on TV has put a bunch of people all over the world in FUNKville right now.
It’s hard to feel energetic and upbeat when you know others are suffering, at least I think it’s that way for caring women.
I hope the FUNK lifts soon though, for you, me and others experiencing it.
God Bless you and yours, and I’ll say a quick prayer that we all get out of this FUNK.

Thanks, and yes, the terrible news in Japan is definitely a contributor. Too much sadness in the world, and really hard to ignore it, especially when you have children.

Me. Too.

Is it an age thing? I seem to get more funked as I get older.

Or is it the weather? Spring can’t come fast enough.

Or is it just because I seem to do everything around this house!!!

You’re so funny Elaine – they are a paper version of those glasses you get at the eye doctor. Had my eyes dilated and couldn’t see to drive without them. The kids are enjoying them tremendously.

Damn them funks. You know what you need? You need to go out and treat yourself to something nice. Something that brings a smile to your face. And when you’ve done that come back and post what it is and whether it made you feel better. Short term happiness – yes yes, but sometimes it’s what we need!

I am in a big Funk! Feel exhausted and irritated all the time. You mean it is not rational to have a total meltdown when the mailman is late?
I have a girls night out scheduled tomorrow so I am hoping that will help me shake the funk!

I totally know that feeling…it is coming on this week…of course the PMS follows with it! Hope your funk has passed…

Funks are funkin’ funked up. They can last a day or weeks or months. I’m hoping for the most former for you, obviously. Me? I nap every day. I haven’t done that since I was 3. I’ve also been called Eeyore. Oh well. (ha.)
