Little Gems – The Four Year Old Comedienne

by MARIA on April 7, 2011

The four year old is the sweetest, and funniest little girl I know.

She makes me laugh all the time.

Most of it is her age, but she also has a personality that is tough to beat.

Here are a few of her most recent gems.

Just yesterday…..

Daddy: “Adios, Muchachos!”

4yo: “Adios, Cheeseball!”

At Starbucks, to the barista ……

4yo: “Hello, I would like a vanilla stone please! A big one!

Me: “Do you mean scone?”

4yo: “Oh, no, I don’t like scones. I like da vanilla STONE!” pointing to a vanilla scone.

During a conversation with her older brother…..

4yo: “Last night, I dreameded that I was a murmaid & Awiel was my best fwend!”

7yo: “What a dumb dream. Mermaids are stupid.”

During one of her regular play sessions with her big bro…

Her brother played the role of king, eating a “feast” of plastic food, while the four year old stood on the couch, serenading him.

“I’m a good singer! I can sing oprah!” (she meant opera)

Discussing world issues….

4yo: “Mommy, a book told me some people don’t have a bathroom in their house, so they have to pee in a different city.”

Every night before bedtime….

4yo: “Can you give me a snukamo kiss?”

Me: “What’s a snuckamo?”

4yo: “You know, the guys who live in ice.”

And finally, she’s a big fan of the family computer….

Me: “Differenter is not a word. Neither is festibal.”

4yo: “Are you sure? Let’s look in da dot com.”

What about you? Have you heard any gems at your house this week? Would love to hear them!

It’s so freakin’ adorable – she’s always asking to play on the home computer, but calls it the dot com. It’s pretty hard to resist.

I need to start writing down the things our kids say. They say funny things, too, but I can never remember them!

Ah, “da dot com.” She’s on the same wavelength as my daughter, obviously. My daughter who yells “JUST GOOGLE IT, MOMMY!”

Cute!! It’s kind of insane how technologically savvy the wee ones are these days, no?

I snuggled Audrey and lamented that she and her sister were growing up too fast and were no longer my little babies. Audrey said, “Thats ok, mom. You can have another baby.”

She is so cute. I love her way of saying “Awiel”! :)

THis week G was talking about the Star Wars character Obi Wan Kenobi and he said “Obi Kenobi One”. I thought it was cute anyway…

I love things out of the mouth of preschoolers! They have enough insight to make comments and not enough experience not to make them correctly. Hilarious! I especially love her dot com references.

My 3 year old is super smart, and super HILARIOUS. She says stuff all the time that makes us laugh ridiculously loud. Here is the most recent conversation she had with my mom (Oma). (Keep in mind my kids are half black. She calls herself “brown.”)

My mom: “Naiya, can I have a piece of gum?”
Naiya: “No, this gum is for brown girls and daddies.”
She then proceeds to pull out a different piece of gum, “Here, this one is for white omas.”

Oh, here’s one more, from a couple days ago:

Naiya: “Mom, I want to be just like you when I get bigger.”
Me: “You do? Aww, honey, that’s so sweet! How do you want to be like me?”
Naiya: “I want to have zits like you!” Thanks, kid.

It wasn’t this week, but my 7 yo son said this about a friend who shaves his head: “Some people have hair, and some people just have heads, like Mr. Paul.”
