The New Old Navy – Review & Giveaway – CLOSED

by MARIA on April 18, 2011

A few weeks ago, I was invited by Old Navy to check out my local store, one of the 260+ stores that has been redesigned as part of The New Old Navy Project.

I think the new store looks fantastic. The new design is bright and open and is really easy to navigate with kids and strollers because of the wide aisles. I love the new  racetrack design of the store that is much easier  and I find, more enjoyable to shop.

New additions to the store include quick change pods for when you want to try on a single item really quickly, a fun novelty section that my kids LOVE and a fantastic new check out lane.

The new design offers a much more enjoyable shopping experience, while still maintaining its great pricing and huge selection.

I was sent a $250 gift certificate to also check out their spring collection. Normally, I would take that and spend the entire thing on my kids. But this time I was a little selfish and spent it entirely on myself instead. I think we should all do that for ourselves every now and then – seriously, just go out and buy yourself something right now.

I saw and wanted many, many things, and because Old Navy has great prices, I was able to buy a lot of it with my $250 g.c., including:

  • 2 Fine Gauge Open Front Cardigans (Cardigans make the world go round – remember that!)
  • 2 Dolman Sleeve Cardigans
  • 2 Ribbed Tank Tops
  • 2 Slub Knit Drop Waist Tops
  • 3 Eyelit Trimmed Belted Tops

Of course, I was shopping with my four year old, who loves a pretty dress and I had to pick up a sun dress and a cardi for her as well. We almost made it out the door, and then we had to stop for a little Spongebob stuffy too because you can never have too many stuffies (Total lie – yes you can, but she was too cute to say no to that day).

The best thing about Old Navy is that you’ll always find great new items in the store and they have fantastic promotions often, both in store and online.

Oooh Oooh, I’m in love with Old Navy!! I was in their new store a couple of months ago, and it is SO much better now! $250 dollars to spend would be just great as my husband lost his job, and since then, I haven’t been able to update my wardrobe :(

The just reopened one at the mall across the street from my work – I must go check it out soon! I was cross-border shopping last week and went to one in Syracuse – saw lots to buy but only left with a dress and an embellished tank as I had to (somewhat) respect my limits when heading back to Canada ;o)

I was never really a fan of their stuff in the past (am I allowed to say that on an Old Navy PR post? lol) but seeing all of their fresh stuff has made want to stop in and give them another shot. Namely, their spring and summer dresses!
Oh, and maybe some stuff for the little dude. :P

*sigh* It’s been so long since I’ve been in an Old Navy! I’ve tried in vain to place an online order with them for clothes for this new baby girl (after my three boys!) but they won’t ship/bill to a box number. I’m thinking I’ll just place an order to my mom’s place in SK and have her bring it down to Bogota when she comes. Thankfully we’ll be back in Canada by the end of summer!

So, no, I haven’t seen the new design but will be stopping by ASAP when possible… maybe even this July when we’re back to find a new house! That GC would make my first visit in over a year LOOOOOADS more fun! ;)

Well, I have not seen the new store yet BUT I will be heading there soon given your review :-) and perhaps buy a few things for me instead of the kids this time! Thanks for the opportunity!

I LOVE the new layout! I love that the aisles are wide enough that I can keep my kids from grabbing handfuls of clothing from the stroller as we walk through the store!!! :)

Yes, I have been to the newly designed Old Navy. My biggest love in the new store layout…is room….glorious spacious room to move about through the store. The lack of room was one of the things I used to really dislike about shopping trips to Old Navy. The new change rooms are excellent. Yet another peeve that no longer exists. I’ll be shopping there more frequently!

I stepped into the one in Ottawa while it was still being renovated and I have to say, even under construction, I liked it better than the old one. I left with a couple of skirts and some t-shirts, shorts and summer dresses for the kids. Can’t beat Old Navy when it comes to outfitting our three kids on a budget :)

But we are heading out on a family vacation and what better way to start it off, than with a gift card to Old Navy…my kids love there stuff and as usual I usually spent the majority of time/money on things for them not on my self. Would soooo love to have a shopping spree all for me…and ok I confess I’m sure I will have to buy them at least one thing each :)……
