I enjoyed the article titled “Help Your Family Gain Control over the Night through Bedtime Routines”. It reminded me how important bedtime routines are for both my children and myself. We have gotten out of the habit of reading before bed and it is a time I enjoy that lets us all decompress. It’s tough during summer but article reminded me how important this time is.

I learned bedwetting is genetic! Dr. Carolyn Thiedke, professor of family medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina, says “children who have one parent who wet the bed have a 43 percent chance of wetting the bed, and if both parents wet the bed, the chance climbs to 77 percent.”

Because I’m potty-training, I know bed-wetting will be something I will come across in the near future so the Bed-wetting Education courtesy of Goodnites is beneficial! It was interested in learn the causes and treatments for bed-wetting but I particularly loved reading the articles in the Practical Advice portion, especially the Tips for Managing Bedwetting (paying attention to daytime habits, modifying diet and providing comfort and understanding for your bed-wetting child).
    Great tips!
