Making Time To Play Everyday

26th September 2011

It’s not just my kids that love to play – I’m a big fan of play time.

I’m not talking about video games and I’m definitely not talking about anything involving the television. Don’t get me wrong, we have TVs and we watch them, and we also have video games (which we play on weekends only). However, I think playing with toys is crucial to allowing kids to use their imagination and learn to share and play well with others.

I’m a big fan of play that requires both imagination and creativity, so toys such as legos, building blocks, costumes, and board games are very popular in our house. Of course, getting outside is also important – and my husband is in charge of outdoor play including soccer, baseball, biking and playing at the park. We also have days that are dedicated to family time to ensure that we have play time together. These include the very popular Sunday night game nights, where BINGO is currently the game of choice.

As a Kinder Mom, I think it’s great that Kinder Canada also believes that play helps kids learn and grow because I totally agree. Have you had a chance to check out Kinder Canada lately? They have a great contest on right now. They are giving away TEN gift baskets valued at $200 each, to ten lucky community members. There promises to be lots of exciting things happening on the Kinder Canada Facebook page, so please make sure to like them so you can enter to win a basket and be in the loop for future fun!!

Disclosure: I’m part of the KINDER® Mom program and I receive special perks as part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog are my own.
