Happy Birthday Baby Girl

My little girl is five today.

Five.

It went by in a flash. If I think about it too long, I can’t help but get very emotional. One minute I’m cradling a sleeping baby and the next I’m tucking in my big girl and kissing her goodnight.

Five years ago today, I was waiting for my c-section with a magazine, while watching Oprah and Gayle’s Road Trip episode. I remember being annoyed that I had to leave the room with fifteen minutes left in the episode, but then I remembered I was having a baby.

Baby trumps Oprah.

I always dreamed of having  a little girl and my sweetheart is exactly what I always hoped for.

She’s precocious and sweet, and loves a great accessory.

She is a delight. She’s hilarious and stubborn and tough.

She sings all day long, she loves Adele and is forever making up her own songs. The fact that she drives her big brother crazy with her constant singing only makes her want to sing more.

She loves being outside and never turns down any type of adventure.

She’s a great little artist and is always amazing us with her creations.

She is constantly begging for a real puppy or kitten, but is quite happy with her stuffed versions for now.

She’s a princess one minute and battling her brother with light sabers in the next.

She has the most glorious hair, and we still have yet to figure out how that happened.

I’ve never wanted to clone another human as much as I do this wee one.
