I’m back. I took a wee break, to recover from pneumonia and enjoy the holidays with my people.
I hope you missed me.
Anywho, during the holidays I had a chance to do some reading:
The Hunger Games which was fantastic, despite being something I wouldn’t normally read. I’m almost done Catching Fire and really enjoying that as well. I really recommend them if you’re looking for something to read.
I also watched several flicks, including:
Jane Eyre – I’ve seen every version of this Jane Austen book and the latest is a great one. Mia Wasikowska (Jane) is fantastic, Judy Dench is divine (as always) and Michael Fassbender (Mr. Rochester) is perfection. I’ve never seen Michael Fassbender before, but it is damn near impossible not to fall in love with him in this movie. If you love a great period movie, this one is a must see.
Limitless – I started watching this one with the husband, but got distracted and missed half the movie. What I did see was great, and the husband really liked it. Also, Bradley Cooper is in it, so there’s that.
Beginner’s – If you’re fan of quirky, different movies, this one is a must see. It stars Ewan MacGregor and Christopher Plummer who are both SO good and perfectly cast. This movie is funny and smart and really well done. GREAT rental!!
Oh, and if you love quirky movies, two others that come to mind are The Royal Tenenbaums (one of my all-time favs) and 500 Days of Summer.
And the husband bought me an iPad 2 for Christmas. Did I mention that I love the husband.
How were your holidays?? Did you read or see anything worth sharing??

i really don’t get the time to read unless it is US magazine on the porcelain throne but I did get a chance to watch the newest episode of “Wizards of Waverly” place this week. Yes, as imagined, heart stopping.
Ha. Is it bad that I don’t even know what Wizards of Waverly is?? But I do appreciate your love of US Magazine — definitely need to be up on all the celeb gossip.
Totally missed you.
Watched that Ape movie, managed a few chapters of The Help (Yes I cheated and saw the movie) and started watching Dexter! Gah. And iPad coveting from afar… your husband rocks!

Oh, yes, I watched that too. I was totally freaked out!! And I’m dying to see The Help and Dexter is definitely on the list. Just never enough time!
I’m glad your back and well! Kept clicking my bookmark to have a little piece of understanding during the holidays, but you’re entitled to them too! My husband sure got a good laugh when I was telling company on Christmas Eve about your tablet giveaway and how I had wished for one to keep all to myself…under the tree the whole time was an iPad2! I love my husband too!
Nice!! Isn’t it fantastic!! My husband quickly took over the Toshiba tablet I had. He didn’t even ask – just took it, cleared it off and hasn’t put it down since. Glad you stuck around!
What an great blog, I love little niche blogs like this. I saw a comment on top about “Wizards of Waverly” and you would only know of it if you have kids glued to disney channel.
Thanks!!
Beginners looks like it will be interesting because I just love Christopher Plummer…and speaking of Bradley Cooper, I can’t wait to see him play the Devil in Paradise Lost. I think it comes out this year?
I downloaded a sample of Hunger Games just to see what all the hype was about, but I haven’t actually bought it yet because it’s not the type of book I usually read either. I’m warming up to it though…
