Recharging Your Mom Batteries

by MARIA on September 24, 2012

I’m a mom.

I’m a mom of two kids that seem to have batteries that never need replacing.

I’m a mom of two kids that have one volume – LOUD.

I’m a mom of two kids and a husband that travels more often than not.

I’m a mom of two kids with an incredible amount of respect for every single mom out there, because I can absolutely relate, if only temporarily.

I’m a mom who loves her kids, but maybe hides in the bathroom sometimes – because it’s the only room in the house with a lock and a stack of new conveniently placed magazines.

I’m a mom who loves her kids. Full stop.

But, I’m a mom that is tired. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

This is why I believe all moms can relate to each other on some level. Every mom needs a chance to recharge her batteries and take care of herself. Everyone has a different way of doing that but the important thing is to just do it, because putting yourself last all the time just sucks. I’ve put myself last for so long  that I can’t remember what it was like to not do that, and that’s just sad, no?

Even little things like taking a walk alone or grabbing  coffee with a girlfriend is a great way to recharge your batteries. Reading a great book, gardening, scrapbooking, working out – there are so many great ways to give yourself time to take care of yourself, for sanity’s sake.

We deserve it.

I totally agree with you on this one! As a mom of 4 I can relate with most busy and tired moms. As much as we do love our children, if we don’t get at least a few minutes to ourselves each day, we are cheating not only our own souls but our families because we will not be able to give them our best which is what they deserve.
That supplement looks like it might do the trick for me. I may check into it. Thanks! Now I am off to go hide in the bathroom for a little while and read that new magazine that just came in….
