Trouble With The Curve is a great movie about an aging baseball scout, Gus Lobel (Clint Eastwood) and his relationship with his daughter Mickey (Amy Adams). When his abilities come into question, his daughter puts her own career as a high powered attorney at risk to save his.
I actually assumed that Trouble with the Curve was more about baseball than anything else, but baseball only plays a supporting role in this flick. It’s really about the troubled and very complicated father daughter relationship, which is dysfunctional to say the least. Clint Eastwood brings his classic squint and perfected grumpiness to his role and could not be better cast for the role. Amy Adams is fabulous, but then she is most of the time so it’s no surprise that she is a joy to watch in Trouble With The Curve. Also, actors Justin Timberlake (yum) and John Goodman only add to the great cast of this film.
Best Quote of the Movie: Gus – “Now get out of here before I have a heart attack trying to kill you.”
I think it’s a great rental to watch with your man, or woman, or dog, or alone (as long as the popcorn is plentiful). Enjoy!
