BioSteel Hockey Camp 2014 #MazdaFan

27th August 2014

We were thrilled to recently be invited to the BioSteel hockey camp in Toronto this year, sponsored by Mazda. Unfortunately, the morning of the event, my son who is a huge hockey fan, was very sick so we ended up having to cancel. To say that he was heartbroken is a huge understatement – he was crushed. He knew he was missing out on a great experience, and sadly, he was right.

BioSteel training camps are an annual week-long event that brings together some of the league’s best players for an intensive week-long training program. This year’s camp, sponsored by Mazda, had both on-ice and outdoor activities with the last day featuring a four-team tournament and a chance to win the camp cup. Players that attended included Michael Cammalleri, Tyler Seguin, Wayne Simmonds, Michael Del Zotto, Brian McGrattan, The Subban brothers – P.K., Malcolm and Jordan Subban, Chris Stewart, Michael Latta, Brett Ritchie, Jay Harrison, TJ Galiardi, Michael Dal Colle, Devante Smith-Pelly, Paul Bissonnette, Josh Ho-sang, Max Domi and more prospects. (Thanks to my fellow blogger Maria, who was also at the event that day for providing the player’s names.) Even the Great One, Wayne Gretzky made an appearance with son Ty.

I previously had four official videos posted here of the camp days, but they’ve since been removed for some reason. Thanks again to Maria for sharing her video of her day with me.

Check out this shoot-out goal by Jordan Subban during the camp.

Here’s the amazing shoot-out goal by Josh Ho-Sang that people are still talking about.

And Paul Bissonette’s Mazda commercial, filmed during the camp.

If you ever have the opportunity to go and check out BioSteel training camp, take it!

Disclosure: I was part of the Mazda BioSteel Hockey Training Camp Blogger Campaign with Mom Central Canada and I receive special perks as part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog are my own.
