LostMy.Name Personalized Books #Books #Review

9th July 2015

lostmyname-logo

Personalized books have come a LONG way, baby. Most of the ones I’ve seen haven’t been very impressive, looking both cheesy and of poor quality. But then I discovered LostMy.Name personalized books.

lostmyname-books

LostMy.Name books are special. They’re a softcover book, made with a lovely, heavy quality paper that gives them a substantial feel. The illustrations are absolutely glorious and really work with the story to make this book unique.

lostmyname-book

The story is about a little girl or boy who loses their name and goes on an adventure to find it, letter by letter.

lostmyname-book

I adore this book – it’s a great story, and any little person would love it too. I think a personalized gift makes a perfect gift, and one this special will be a winner. The site says these are ideal for two – six year olds, but my eight year old loves hers too.

lostmyname-book

The ordering process is one of the best things about these books – it is just SO easy. Just enter the child’s name on the site, choose boy or girl and click the CREATE YOUR BOOK button and it’s done. You can click to preview your book in several languages including English, German, Spanish, French, and Italian. The book is $34.99 with free worldwide shipping, and you can choose to have it gift wrapped for an additional $4.50. Make it even more special by including your very own dedication and they’ll print it on the first page for you.

Want to order your own copy? Head over to the site and check them out. You can also find LostMy.Name on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest.

*I was sent a personalized copy to review, but my opinions are always my own.*

2015-2016 BAN.DO AGENDAS #OMGBandoAgenda

29th May 2015

I’ve just discovered the most adorable, yet practical agendas by BAN.DO!

bando

They’re colourful, fun, absolutely unique and feature the most gorgeous covers.

bando-agendas

The agendas are filled with cute artwork by the Ban.do Girl Gang, and I might have to frame some of them when I’m done with the agenda.

bando-agendas

What I love most about these agendas is that they have a sense of humour, like most of the band.do products. They feature fun suggestions like, “Take a nap on a pool floaty!” and “Hang a disco ball in your room!” They include cute stickers, fun holidays (yes, National Pina Colada Day should be a thing) and even a Ban.do Girl Girl secret code.

bando-agendas

On the practical side, they’re 17 month agendas, in two sizes and several patterns. The smaller size (5.5 in. x 8.5 in.) and the larger (8 in. x 10 in.) and both feature a lay flat design, which is awesome. I picked up the larger one and I love it.

bando-agendas

In Canada, you can pick them up at Chapters – I found mine in store but they’re also online. In the U.S. you can get them off the ban.do site.

bando5

I have no doubt these will sell out, so if you love them as much as I do, you might want to pick one up soon!! You can also find ban.do on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest too.

Orla Kiely Spring Summer 2015 Collection

10th May 2015

orla-kiely-logo

I. LOVE. Orla Kiely.

I love her in a slightly unhealthy, obsessed, staring at the website and imagining myself being besties with Orla and her sending me all the things, because that’s what besties do, kind of way. What? That’s TOTALLY NORMAL.

I’ve decided that when I win the lottery, the first thing I’m going to do is buy Colin Firth’s affection. But the second, the second is definitely buying everything Orla Kiely has ever made, and will ever make, until the end of time. Again, TOTALLY NORMAL.

Now that you understand my Orla Kiely delight, her Spring Summer 2015 Collection is out and it’s so pretty. My favourite pattern is definitely the new scribble sunflower print.

orla-kiely-2015

Although I love the sky blue giant linear stem print too.

And these need to come live with me too.

Canadian Online Shopping with Shop.ca #ReInventTheMall

21st November 2014

shop-ca-logo

I have a little problem.

Let me rephrase that – my spouse thinks I have a little problem.

A shopping problem.

Personally, I don’t think it’s a problem because it’s relaxing and enjoyable.

It’s even more enjoyable, for me anyway, during the holidays because it’s a unavoidable necessity. I HAVE to shop.

I come from a huge family and have many nieces and nephews, and siblings, and parents, and of course my two little hyenas and the husband and a friends to shop for, so it unfortunately gets pricey pretty quickly.

I try to do as much of my holiday shopping online as possible, because there are so many more options than I can find in the small city that I live in.

This is why I really like Shop.ca.

The best thing about it for me is that it’s Canadian (I. Am. Canadian), so I can avoid duties and taxes and crazy surcharges and shipping, that is always the case when shopping on U.S. sites. There’s nothing I hate more than finding a great gift online for a great price and then having to let it go because the shipping is outrageous. With Shop.ca, shipping is FREE!!! Plus, I’m all for supporting great Canadian business.

I’ve been looking for presents for my 10 year old son who loves hockey and just by searching NHL on the site, I found over 2,300 results including autographed photos which of course, are on his birthday and Christmas lists this year. Success!! The site is super easy to navigate, not cluttered which makes a big difference in my opinion, and full of great products. If money was no object (where my money tree at?), I could do some serious damage.

I’m looking at you Nespresso machines. For starters.

If you have an Aeroplan account, you can earn 5X the miles on the site as well, which you can then redeem for things like Shop.ca gift cards. Double win! If you’re on Twitter and/or Facebook, definitely make sure to follow Shop.Ca because they’ve got great gift ideas posted and they’ll even help you find the perfect gift just by tweeting with the hashtag #ReInventTheMall. You’ll also find a helpful shopping guide on their site for all the lovely people in your life.

Happy Shopping!! Feel free to email me for my Christmas list. #Kidding #NotKidding

Back to School with Hilroy

29th August 2014

I don’t know about you but school supplies make me giddy.

The fact that I haven’t been in school in 15 years is irrelevant – I need school supplies!!

Yes, I still buy school supplies for myself all the time. Yes, a good pen is something to be hidden in secret places so my kids don’t take them from me, and YES I have a closet that is totally dedicated to school supplies, pens and notebooks. Yes, I have a slight addiction. No, I’m not about to change any time soon.

Anyway, back to school is a time of year that thrills me for many reasons, but mostly it’s the school supplies.

When I’m buying them for myself, they need to be attractive to look at and useful, although if it’s pretty, I’ve been known to make an exception. When I’m buying them for the kids, it’s about what they need and getting a great price. But enough about them.

I thought I would share my absolute favourite line out right now which you can find exclusively at Target – Nate Berkus for Hilroy. It’s pure love, and if you’re a fan of gold accents, this line is for you.

You don’t have to settle for old school supplies anymore, when there are so many gorgeous options out there! Gorgeous, and affordably priced and everything is available at Target and Target Canada!!

Shopping ShoeMe.Ca – Canada’s Online Shoe Retailer

21st July 2014

converseI love shopping online.

I love the searching for great sites, I love the choosing, I love the buying and I especially love the arrival of said purchase. I LOVE IT ALL.

Just ask my credit card (insert husband sad face here).

The great thing about having great online options in Canada is that you can avoid the additional costs of duties and taxes that inevitably get added on to your purchase. It’s also easier to return or exchange items when the company is within Canada, I think. Shopping a Canadian site is a nice, stress-free option.

Enter my new favorite – ShoeMe.Ca. If you love shopping for shoes, and who doesn’t, ShoeMe.ca is the best online option in Canada.

ShoeMe.Ca has over 180 fantastic brands to choose from, for Women, Men and Children’s shoes (they also sell socks, shoe care and Herschel bags and products). They offer specialty sizing for wide and narrow feet, for smaller feet (size 6 and below) and bigger feet (size 10 and above). They even sell Steel Toe/CSA Approved options!

ShoeMe.Ca also offers FREE SHIPPING AND RETURNS within Canada – LOVE IT. And you must check out the Outlet section so you can check out all the shoes on sale, and clearance. Right now you can take an additional 20% off with the Outlet!20 promo code.

I was given the opportunity to try out the site and order some shoes and it took me forever to decide, because I wanted SO MANY PAIRS! They’ve got so many gorgeous shoes, from flats to heels to sneakers and boots, it was just difficult to decide. The list of brands is incredible – Fly London, Franco Sarto, Toms, Converse, Sam Edelman, Keds, and Rocket Dog, just to name a few. The selection is incredibly diverse and fantastic. It is impossible not to find something you’ll love. That was my problem – I loved many, many pairs, but in the end I went with my ultimate favs – Converse.

Specifically, I chose the Converse Women’s Chuck Taylor Metallic Silver Hi-Tops and I’m so glad I did. I LOVE THEM.

converse

SUPER LOVE.

converse

INFATUATED, WANT TO SLEEP IN THEM, KIND OF LOVE.

ShoeMe.Ca is a great online Canadian option for buying shoes for everyone in the family. They accept all credit cards and Paypal for payment options. Connect with them online on Twitter and Facebook, or sign up for the newsletter to stay in the know about their sales and promotions.

Need some shoes? Use my promo code BoredMommy25 to get $25 off your next purchase over $100!!

July Ipsy Bag Reveal

16th July 2014

ipsy-july

I just joined ipsy last month and finally received my first bag yesterday.

Each bag has a theme and this month’s theme is Sensationally Sun Kissed.

Here’s what was included in my bag:

ipsy-july

Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray Conditioning & Texturizing Spray

Hang Ten Dark Tanning Oil SPF 08

Pixi Beauty Mini Tinted Brilliance Balm

POP Beauty Sunkissed Bronzer

A card offering Free Shipping at ULTA.com with any bareMinerals purchase – with the promo code IPSYBAREFS.

I should have also received another product – the bareMinerals5-in-1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow Broad Spectrum SPF 15 but it wasn’t in my package. I emailed them about it and received an email very quickly, letting me know they would send me a replacement as soon as possible.
ipsy-julyMy thoughts on the July Ipsy bag:

Do I love it? It’s ok. I love the little cosmetic bag, it’s adorable and my seven year old keeps stealing it, so it’s definitely a hit. I’ve heard from a friend that the beach spray is fantastic, but I haven’t tried it yet. The bronzer powder is nice and I adore the packaging, but I have never tried bronzer so it’s going to take a little practice so I don’t end up looking like a tan zebra. I really like the pixi balm in terms of it’s consistency and packaging but the shade is VERY PINK. The oddest thing by far I think, was the dark tanning oil. Do people still wear tanning oil in this day and age? Aren’t we all slathering ourselves with sunscreen at this point? I just think it’s a big miss, and I’ve read the forums and people are not loving it at all. I agree – awful idea to add a tanning oil.

Do you get ipsy? What did you get this month? Are you happy with your July bag??
