Books are the absolute BEST gift to give (and receive) this time of year. Or anytime of year quite frankly. A gorgeous picture book is a perfect way to show a little person in your life that you adore them. Why not gift them a book that will make them smile like Pom Pom Panda Gets the Grumps by Sophy Henn. Look at that grumpy face! This is a story about a little panda named Pom Pom who wakes up on the wrong side of the bed, and is just a total grump. This is me, Monday to Friday – although I do tend to perk up on the weekends. This adorable tale follows Pom Pom on his grumpy day where nothing seems to go right, all the way until he gets to school. I wonder how his friends will feel about his grumpy attitude? Pom Pom Panda is a sweet [Continue Reading…]
My bedtime battle days involving my kids are over, thankfully. The kids are pretty good about going to bed and know when they’re too tired to function and can’t really be bothered to fight it. I on the other hand, am not the best at sleeping regular hours like a normal person. I’d rather Netflix than sleep these days. Actually I’d rather Netflix than do anything at night, especially when it’s so cold out and I’m already wearing the jammies. Let’s be honest, after the bra comes off, a fire couldn’t get me to leave the house. After the kids are in bed is really the only time I get to watch television, which is convenient since most of my tv watching is not appropriate for them anyway. So what am I watching these days??? Right now I am HOOKED on the Netflix Original series Marvel’s Jessica Jones. It is SO good. This is [Continue Reading…]

The holiday season is here and it’s time to get shopping for everyone on your list. My kids started their lists weeks ago – they’ve taped them to the fridge and just keep adding to them as they see things they want. I figure they’ll have a short story by the time we get to December. Lucky me. My 9 year old always has something from Crayola on her list – she loves being creative and art and is very imaginative. ‘Crayola believes in the genius of imagination, the power of play and the magic of dreams.’ I love that and I’m all for it. Crayola has some great gift ideas that would be perfect for this holiday season. We had a chance to try some of them out and they are definite winners! Crayola Crayon Carver The Crayola Crayon Carver is a multiple award winner and geared to kids [Continue Reading…]
I’ve been waiting for the sequel to My Big Fat Greek Wedding forever. I can’t believe its been 13 years since the first one came out. I adored the first movie, despite its many cheesy moments and awful Greek stereotypes. My younger sister and I saw it in the theater and we died laughing – we could relate to a lot of it. The strict family, the restaurant business, the million relatives named Gus and the marriages to non-Greeks are something we’ve both experienced. The sequel comes out this Spring 2016. Enjoy the trailer!
Disney has finally released the trailer for the much anticipated sequel to the Alice in Wonderland movie, Alice Through The Looking Glass and it looks amazing!! It arrives in theatres May 27, 2016 and is directed by James Bobin this time around. Johnny Depp (Mad Hatter), Anne Hathaway (White Queen), Helena Bonham Carter (Red Queen) and Mia Wasikowska (Alice) are back and joined by Sasha Baron Cohen as Time, and Rhys Ifans as the Mad Hatter’s Father. ENJOY!
You know, it’s very cool to colour these days. Personally I’ve always loved colouring – I just find it so relaxing and void of technology. Really you should try it – put down your phone and your iPad, turn your tv off and sit and colour. You get bonus points if you convince the children to join you. Convince, bribe, force – you get the idea. The lovelies at Penguin Random House just sent me the latest colouring book by artist Daria Song called The Time Chamber. Actually, it’s not just a coloring book but also a ‘magical story’ about a fairy who enters the human world when the clock strikes midnight. The Time Chamber features lovely illustrations that will appeal to all ages. And OWLS – owls will always garner bonus points in my book. My 9 year old and I both agree that this colouring book is a beautiful [Continue Reading…]
