Have you been to the Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto yet?? I had a chance to go with the husband and the kids recently, and we loved it. I’ve always really enjoyed art museums (adult quiet time), so I’ve tried to expose the kids to them as often as I can. Thankfully, it’s working because they seem to enjoy them too. And even though they ask a million questions at each painting, it’s a great experience for all of us.
We were very lucky to get invited to see the Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibit before it’s gone next month (May 10th). I knew a little about Basquiat and his life and of course, his friendship with Andy Warhol, so I was really excited about seeing his work in person. They didn’t disappoint – I thought they were so unique and beautiful. I loved reading about each painting and seeing so much more in them after learning what they represented to Basquiat. I also really enjoyed the works he did with Andy Warhol, some of which were also on display.
If you haven’t had the chance to see it yet, there’s still time – Basquiat is at the Art Gallery of Ontario until May 10, 2015 so make sure to check it out before it’s gone.
Of course, we took the time to explore the rest of the AGO while we were there.
Thanks to the AGO for a great enjoyable, and educational day out with the kids!!
