Back to School With Mabel’s Labels

25th August 2014

mabel-logo1

It’s Back to School time again.

We’re saying goodbye to no schedule, no peer drama, no homework and eating whenever the hell we feel like it. BOO.

One week left means it’s time to pick up any last minute items you need and of course, labels!!!

I label EVERYTHING that the kids take to school or there is a high probability that I will never see it again. I label their bags, lunch bags, water bottles, coats, shoes, boots, pencil cases….you get the idea. Basically, I label everything but the children themselves, and I only use Mabel’s Labels.

I was introduced to Mabel’s years ago when I first blogging, and I can say this is one product that just doesn’t disappoint. They cute, they’re excellent quality and they do not come off, even in the microwave, dishwasher and washing machine!

mabels-labelsMabel’s Labels has four great options for back to school labels – The Ultimate Back to School Combo, Stylish Scholars Combo, the Tween Pack and Book Labels. It really depends on your kids’ age and their needs. With my children being younger, the Ultimate Back to School Combo is perfect.

The Ultimate Back to School Combo includes, 40 Skinny Minis, 50 Tag Mates, 16 shoe labels and 2 (waterproof) Teeny Tags. They come in a variety of colours and designs to appeal to a wide audience. My daughter chose aqua and pink labels featuring a dolphin graphic – her favourite animal. This combo costs $42, but keep in mind that you get a lot of labels – they last us at least two school years.

Place your order soon because the labels will be dispatched to you in 24 hours with free shipping, so there’s definitely still time to get them before school!!! These combos are only available until September 30th, so get on it!!!

mabels-labelsKeep in mind, if you’re all set with your school labels, Mabel’s has so many great products to choose from – household labels, hockey equipment labels, allergy alert labels, and lootbag combos, to name just a few. Make sure to check out their site for all the great options that are available.

Make sure to follow Mabel’s Labels on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest for label inspiration, giveaways and fun promotions.

Rudsak Kids

18th September 2012

I’m a fan of Rudsak and their gorgeous handbags – they are divine. The fact that they’re a Canadian brand is just an awesome bonus.

Today, they announced their new kids line of coats that are so cute and fashionable – love them!

“The kids’ line came about organically; my own two boys are my inspiration. It was the next obvious step for Rudsak,” said Evik Asatoorian, Rudsak founder and creative leader. “I wanted to create Canadian-designed clothes for kids that keep them warm and comfortable at the same time, but also stylish and on trend with the current season.”

The jackets will range from size 1/2 to 9/10 and will be available by the end of the month. There are currently three styles in the line – LOLA and LILI (for girls) and LULU (unisex), and they come in black, khaki-cactus and tan/bronze. They are pricey at $295, but they are gorgeous leather jackets. They will be available online and in their retail locations.
Adorable!!

Body Wrap Shapewear – Review & Giveaway

11th November 2011

When I decided to go to Blissdom last month (can you believe it’s been a MONTH??), I knew I wanted to check out some type of shapewear, especially for the CBC event.

I’ve tried shapewear in the past – one particular brand actually (rhymes with no THANX), and hated every minute of wearing it. It was hot and it rolled where it wasn’t supposed to and it was very, very uncomfortable. I regretted every penny I spent on it, about five minutes into wearing it.

So, I heard about this Canadian company called Body Wrap Shapewear, and was extremely grateful that they sent me an item to try out during Blissdom.

First some details about Body Wrap:

  • It’s a Canadian company – WOO!
  • The product is designed without seams.
  • The product has a patented design that involves a special weaving technology.
  • The material is breathable, so it’s suitable for even warmer climates.
  • There is a REGULAR and FULL FIGURE collection.
  • There are tons of options within each collection.
I was sent the All-Inclusive (see left) in nude for my trip. I didn’t have time to even try it on before I left, so my first experience with it was only an hour or so before getting ready for the event. When I first pulled it out of the package, it looked TINY. I actually laughed out loud at how tiny it was – yes, I amuse easily. However, once I got to putting it on, it was a breeze.

I was worried about it being very difficult to pull on, from my past experience with other products, but it really wasn’t. It’s important to note that when you are putting on your Body Wrap shapewear (especially those that are bodysuits), do not pull on the bust shirring, because you might tear it. Anyway, once I pulled it on, did some jumping around in front of the mirror, and any necessary adjustments, it felt really good. I was most hesitant about feeling hot or sweaty, because I tend to feel hot ALL THE TIME (thank you hormones).

However, I have to tell you that not once during the entire evening did I feel uncomfortable wearing it. In fact soon after, I forgot I even had it on. I felt good, and didn’t have to worry about any seaming or pulling or weird bumps caused by the shapewear. It did absolutely what it promised, and I felt good in it.

I have worn the bodysuit a few times since, and still really like it. I’ve washed it (by hand) and it held up beautifully. If I decide to buy any additional shapewear in the future, I’m absolutely checking out the Body Wrap website first. The Body Wrap long-leg bodysuit with underwire retails for $88 and can be purchased in stores (check their site for locations) and online on their site.

It’s Ugi Time!

8th March 2011

Look what I got in the mail!

It’s Ugi Time!!

Ugi is a company created by three Canadian moms who wanted a “challenging, effective and sustainable workout that could fit into their busy lifestyles.”

So what is the Ugi philosophy? I’m going to quote their site here:

  • It is all about you.
  • It is about working out for real life, for health and happiness.
  • It’s functional training that helps you operate better and feel better every day.
  • It’s health training that helps you benefit from the relationship between good eating and exercise.
  • It’s happiness training, that helps you get more joy out of each minute, based on the idea that there are 1,440 minutes in every day, and if you use 30 of them for physical activity, the other 1,410 feel better.
  • So Ugi is really about helping you make small choices that add up to big, realistic results.

I was sent the Ugi at Home set, which includes the 8lb Ugi ball, an easy-to-follow workout guide, a five day workout dvd, and a guide to making good food choices, access to the online library and a free Ugi timer iPhone app.

I’m going to be using the Ugi for the next six weeks – a program that involves 30 minutes a day – 30 exercises – 1 piece of equipment.

I’m looking forward to blogging about my experience.

For more information about Ugi -check out their site, on Facebook and Twitter.
